VUB Brussels Photonics (B-PHOT) and Trince are delighted to invite you to the upcoming 360 CARLA Experience about Photoporation: A gentler cell transfection method.

During the visit, participants will spend the day with the Trince Systems Development team, engaging with experts experienced in photonics, software, drug delivery and biomedical diagnostics. The day begins with an introductory briefing at the Trince, followed by a hands-on demonstration in the optics research lab. Throughout the visit, participants will learn about how Trince’s experts validate their photothermal particles with the help of dark-field microscopy to measure vapour nanobubbles.
About Trince
Trince is a spin-off company from Ghent University dedicated to advancing cell-based science and therapeutics by facilitating the delivery of molecules into cells, both in vitro and ex vivo. The company’s LumiPore transfection platform, which is covered by a portfolio of pending patents, combines laser exposure with photothermal nanoparticles to convert light energy into heat to transiently permeabilize the cellular plasma membrane. It can be used to deliver a wide variety of effector molecules (e.g. nucleic acids or proteins) into virtually any cell type, including hard-to-transfect cells such as immune cells for cell therapies. The technology not only makes it easier to bring genetic material into cells at high throughput. It also ensures that this is done in a gentle manner, maximizing the therapeutic quality of the final cell product.
