360 CARLA Health Capsule Brussels

360 CARLA partner Brussels Photonics B-PHOT organised a 360 CARLA Health Capsule focusing on “Advanced Microfabrication Techniques for Microfluidic Devices” training co-located with the EIC Pathfinder project VortexLC, held on September 3rd, 2024, 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM at the Photonics Innovation Center of Vrije Universiteit Brussel in Gooik, Belgium.

This workshop featured both academic and industrial experts (VUB B-PHOT Brussels Photonics, Inst. of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, NCSR “Demokritos”​ , Sirris | Innovation forward, JOANNEUM RESEARCH, Coating Plasma Innovation ) presenting cutting-edge advancements in microfabrication and microfluidics. After the talks, the 40 workshop participants were divided into 4 smaller groups and visited the laboratories and manufacturing facilities of the VUB Photonics Innovation Centre, where meetings with experts were scheduled.

VortexLC aims to develop a low-cost point-of-care device that improves the quality of the analysis and provides an instant full picture of the health status of diabetes patients.
