CARLA meets high school students: CARLA Capsule VUB Brussels 2024

Brussels Photonics B-PHOT organized a CARLA Capsule focusing on “Photonics Outreach” and hosted 52 high school students on October 25th, 2024 at Vrije Universiteit Brussel in Brussels, Belgium.

The event celebrated the Day of Photonics and EYEST’s 13th Anniversary. During the visit, high school students were divided into five groups to participate in various activities. The pupils attended a talk on the Introduction to Photonics and its Applications, as well as career possibilities in the Photonics Landscape. They also learned about bachelor study paths that can lead to a Master of Science in Photonics Engineering at Vrije Universiteit Brussel. PhD and Master students from B-PHOT conducted four hands-on photonics experiments, including optical telecommunication, lenses, polarization, and holograms.
