Join leading scientists and motivated students in this comprehensive Laser Safety Seminar Course, designed to deepen your understanding of laser functionality, potential hazards, and methods to minimize risks in various working environments. This course is organized by the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in collaboration with PhotonicSweden, Laserfabriken AB and the 360 CARLA project.

This course is intended for STEM undergraduates, master’s students, and early-stage researchers interested in gaining both theoretical and practical knowledge through lectures, lab sessions, and group projects.

  • Function and wavelength domains of different lasers
  • Classification of lasers
  • Basic safety principles
  • Biological effects of laser radiation
  • Proper use of protective equipment
  • Control of associated hazards (electrical & fire safety)
