360 CARLA Training Barcelona

We are pleased to invite you to the ICFO Spring School on Open-Source Tools for Quantum Science & Technology, a 360 CARLA Training designed to introduce students and early-career researchers to the software and hardware tools used in cutting-edge quantum research and technology.

The school will provide a practical overview of open-source tools used in areas such as quantum computing, communications, sensing and simulation. The program combines lectures, hands-on tutorials and interactive sessions delivered by researchers from ICFO – The Institute of Photonic Sciences together with academic and industry experts.

The training is primarily aimed at Master’s students, while advanced undergraduate students, PhD candidates and researchers interested in quantum technologies may also benefit from attending.

When: March 16 – 19, 2026

Where: ICFO, Castelldefels (Barcelona)

During the school, participants will have the opportunity to explore open-source tools widely used in quantum science and technology through lectures, tutorials and interactive sessions with experts from academia and industry. The program will also include a Research Symposium featuring presentations by PhD students and postdoctoral researchers from across the Catalonia Quantum Academy community.

• Tools for quantum computing
• Quantum control
• Quantum communications
• AI-driven discovery in quantum physics
• Transferable skills workshops such as networking, entrepreneurship and science communication

This Spring School is organized by ICFO as part of the Master in Quantum Science and Technology Barcelona program, and is supported by the Catalonia Quantum Academy, the DigiQ European project and TalentQ.
