360 CARLA Training & Experience Stockholm

Join us for the 360 CARLA Training & Experience in Sweden, “From Solar Cell Research to Sustainable Solar Solutions”, taking place on 17 September 2026 at Midsummer AB, Järfälla (Sweden).

This one-day programme, organised by PhotonicSweden and hosted by Midsummer AB, will bring together Master’s and Bachelor’s students to explore how advanced photonics, materials science and manufacturing come together to build innovative and sustainable solar energy solutions, from solar cell research and production technology to finished solar roofs. The day is split into two parts: a morning Training session and an afternoon Experience, and students can apply for one part or both.

The Training session will introduce participants to Midsummer’s technology and history, what sets its solar cells apart from competing approaches, and how the DUO machine is used for solar cell research and development, alongside real-world applications and the company’s approach to climate-smart innovation and market engagement. The Experience, held after a shared lunch, offers hands-on exposure to Midsummer’s production environment, including a guided facility tour, a live manufacturing demonstration, and a look at Midsummer UNO, the company’s generic research tool for solar cell R&D.

The 360 CARLA Training & Experience in Sweden targets STEM undergraduates and master’s students interested in photonics, sustainable energy, materials science and industrial innovation. Participants will engage directly with Midsummer’s experts, gaining insight into the journey from research to commercial products and discovering what a career in sustainable energy technology and deep tech can look like.
