360 CARLA presented at the 77th Congress of Chemists in Slovakia
September 14th, 2025
From September 1st to 4th, 2025, Daniel Haško from the Slovak Centre of Scientific and Technical Information – International Laser Centre represented the 360 CARLA project at the 77th Congress of Chemists, held at the Grand Hotel Bellevue in Horný Smokovec and organized by the Slovak Chemical Society.
Within the session dedicated to education and popularization of science, Daniel delivered a talk titled “The CARLA Programs as a Framework for Multidisciplinary Career Pathways in Photonics.” His contribution introduced the goals and achievements of the EU-funded 360 CARLA project, which builds on the success of the CARLA initiative to strengthen Europe’s photonics talent pipeline. The presentation emphasized how 360 CARLA promotes career development, mentorship, and interdisciplinary collaboration across key photonics application areas – from health and biotechnology to quantum technologies and sustainable industry.
Throughout the congress, 360 CARLA was also visible through dedicated outreach materials, including a “Bookmark” distributed to all participants and a promotional roll-up banner displayed during the poster session. These materials invited attendees to register for the upcoming 360 CARLA events in Bratislava planned for November 2025, further expanding the project’s reach among researchers and students in Slovakia.
By connecting with chemists and material scientists, Daniel’s participation reinforced one of 360 CARLA’s key missions: to foster multidisciplinary collaboration and raise awareness of career opportunities in photonics and related fields.
